Welcome

Canada is  a land of  countless opportunities and endless possibilities. As such, it remains as one of the top destinations for immigrants seeking to live permanently in a safe, and multicultural country. Foreign workers and students are choosing Canada as it offers opportunities for permanent jobs and pathways to permanent residency.

In the 2015 Social Progress Index Report, Canada ranked first globally in the 'opportunity' dimension.

The Government of Canada is committed to family reunification, mostly evident in it's immigration programs.

Minister McCallum to Repeal Parts of the Citizenship Act

An Act o Amend the Citizenship Act would repeal provisions that allow citizenship to be revoked from dual citizens who engage in acts of terrorism, treason or spying offences.  Citizenship would still be revoked if obtained hrough fraud.

The Bill also proposes to reduce the time immigrants must spend in Canada before they can apply for citizenship. Requiring three out of five years against the current requirement which is four of six years. Another proposed change is the age group that will be required to take  language and citizenship knowledge exam. Adjusting it back to 18-54.  With the current law, the age requirement to pass those tests are 14- 64.
